Ministry of Labour investigates damaging explosion in Bracebridge

Details on an explosion investigation in Bracebridge aren’t being released yet.

The Ministry of Labour was called in Friday after the blast damaged nearby homes on Kimberly Avenue. The on-site investigation was completed and the area was re-opened to local traffic later that night. District of Muskoka officials say crews were blasting bedrock on the street as part of a water and sewer project when the larger than planned explosion went off. No one was injured in the incident.

Bracebridge building officials inspected the damaged homes for any structural issues and the district sent out a contractor to make emergency repairs. District officials say if your property was damaged you should get in touch with your insurance company.
