Huntsville is going to be part of the Toronto 2015 Pan AM Torch Relay in the spring. The relay starts with the traditional Aztec lighting ceremony in Mexico . The torch will get to Canada on May 30th in Toronto before visiting five other cities and 130 communities in Ontario including Huntsville. The relay will run for 41 days before lighting the cauldron to officially open the Pan American Games on July 10th. Pan AM is the third largest multi-sport Games in the world. Huntsville has the opportunity to nominate someone to be the special community torchbearer. Details will be released at the end of the month. Doughty says they look forward to welcoming the Pan AM flame as we showcase our unique heritage and sporting traditions.
