MNRF lays charges in Lake Rosseau dumping incident

The MNRF is laying charges in an illegal dumping incident on Lake Rosseau.

Ministry spokesperson Jolanta Kowalski says, while they can’t confirm the details of the investigation, she is able to confirm the charges were laid and a court date has been set for the accused.

Kowalski says depending on the offender there could be a hefty fine attached to a conviction for this crime. She says individuals can be fined up to $15,000 and corporations $25,000 for illegal dumping.

The MNRF is encouraging anyone who witnesses an environmental crime to call the tip line at 1-877-847-7667.
