Local health unit prepares for potential Ebola outbreak

As medical trials for Ebola vaccines begin in West Africa next year, our local health unit has been preparing for a potential outbreak in Simcoe-Muskoka. Associate Medical Officer of Heath Dr. Colin Lee says they have been working closely with local hospitals and healthcare professionals.

Plans also include steps on dealing with the infected patient.

There have been no cases reported of the Ebola virus in Muskoka or the rest of Canada. Meantime the medical trials are expected to start in January.
