A final recommendation on Muskoka’s hospitals is coming this week.
Tomorrow, the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare Board will hear from its Capital Development Task Force. The task force has spent a year reviewing the pros and cons of the three model proposals: keeping acute services at each of the sites in Huntsville and Bracebridge, offering inpatient and outpatient sites or moving all services to one site.
Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison, a member of the task force and who has been an advocate for keeping both original sites, recently told council he approved of the upcoming recommendation.
The meeting will be held in Huntsville. The MAHC board will review the recommendation and make a final model decision by Friday.
