The Muskoka Hornets Association is going ahead with a Midget Select baseball team for next year. President Peter Haynes says the tryout last Friday was successful.

This also includes the handful of local players who came out. The board approved this decision at Monday’s meeting, which Haynes says is a milestone for the association.

Haynes also says there is more work to do to be sustainable for the long term. However, he says having a midget team is going to show the York Simcoe Baseball Association and others they have a real program in Muskoka.
