Next Gravenhurst CAO should live in the community, says Purdon

Gravenhurst needs to find its next CAO. That topic was on people’s minds at last night’s All Candidates Forum at the Gravenhurst Opera House. Nearly 300 people attended to hear from 18 different candidates who weighed in on what they think is best for the town. District Councillor candidate, Mark Clairmont says he’s not sure why there’s so much turnover at the bureaucratic level. He thinks it must be from lack of leadership. Meantime, District Councillor candidate, Sylvia Purdon says she believes council should develop criteria to move things forward. Purdon suggested that council should make it mandatory for the next CAO to live and be part of the community of Gravenhurst.
