A handful of prospective Muskoka councillors acclaimed to office ahead of municipal election

Some old and new faces are preparing to sit down at the council tables in Muskoka this December.

A few councillor candidates are being acclaimed to their new roles as the nomination period for the municipal election closes in Ontario. Returning councillors include Barb McMurray for Oakley Ward and Archie Buie for Draper Ward in Bracebridge and Robert Lacroix for Ridout/McLean Ward in Lake of Bays. Newcomers include Steven Klinck for Ward 3 in Gravenhurst and Stephen Jarvis for Ward 2 in Georgian Bay Township. These candidates were the only ones who filed nomination papers for their wards, so they are automatically elected by acclamation to their respective roles.

The municipal election runs on October 22nd.
