Don Furniss is officially vying to keep his position as Mayor of Muskoka Lakes.

As his first mayoral term is wrapping, Furniss says he has some big successes to celebrate including the Bala Falls project.

Furniss says moving forward, he’d like to continue to make sure the township’s strategic plan is properly rolled out.

He says his business experience will continue to be an asset to the role, as well as taking a balanced approach on all municipal matters.

Furniss first took the mayor’s seat in 2014 after defeating incumbent Alice Murphy. This time he’s running against current Muskoka Lakes councillors Phil Harding and Terry Ledger.
