Police believe they have their man. Over the past few months many people who attended the Canada Summit Centre on Park Drive in Huntsville have fallen victim to thefts.

Huntsville OPP had several complaints from patrons who used the pool, and from families who had their kids enrolled in hockey. Several items had gone missing, including electronics, jewelry and clothing.  On Tuesday, police had more complaints of property that had gone missing from the change rooms of the Don Lough hockey arena. Investigation has led to the arrest of 55 year old Richard Smilsky who is from Huntsville. A search warrant led to the recovery of several items.  He’s been charged with several offences including:

·        Resist Arrest

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X6

·        Theft under $5000.00

·        Fail to Comply with Probation order X2

Huntsville OPP is looking to return property that has not been reported taken.  If anyone has had articles go missing from the arena or the pool area of the Summit Centre, they are asked to attend Huntsville detachment during the week of October 20th and speak to the Muskoka Crime Unit.

Investigation is continuing and more charges are pending. Huntsville OPP would like to thank the public for their assistance on this investigation.
