Five Almaguin Highlands SS students receive grants from Muskoka Community Foundation

A newly-created grant is helping students in Almaguin get to the next step in their education.

The Muskoka Community Foundation has selected its first group of students to receive a combined $21,000 in post-secondary grants this year. Foundation Executive Director Lynn DeCaro says, these five students from Almaguin Highlands Secondary School, showed a commitment to their community as well as a desire to push themselves further in their education.

DeCaro says while the students selected this year were from Almaguin Highlands Secondary, the fund is open students attending any schools in the area.

The grant was created last June to help students living between Muskoka and Nipissing that may not be eligible for other municipal grants.
