OMB pre-hearing on Lippa Quarry to run in Port Carling next week

The appeal for a rejected quarry proposal is coming back to Muskoka Lakes next week.

The Ontario Municipal Board will be holding a pre-hearing at the Port Carling Community Centre to review the appeal details for the Lippa Quarry. The quarry was blocked by council last year after council heard massive opposition against the project during a public meeting.

The main concerns of locals were extra truck traffic coming to the quarry and pollutants leaking into the nearby Skeleton Lake. Applicants Frank and Elizabeth Lippa appealed the OMB in an attempt to push the project through.
