Bracebridge man facing charges related to thefts in Orillia

A Bracebridge man is facing multiple charges after a string of thefts in Orillia.

The OPP says last Wednesday officers spotted a vehicle suspected to have been used in the thefts. The car was stopped and the OPP says after investigating officers had grounds to arrest the driver. The 32-year-old has been charged with four counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The OPP says the car had Alberta plates on it and officers found a British Columbia plate in the trunk.

The thefts in question happened between October of last year and this month. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to be in court on July 31st in Orillia. In the meantime the investigation is ongoing. If you know anything about these thefts you’re asked to call the Orillia OPP at 705-326-3536 or 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
