The victim of a hit and run in Magnetawan has passed away.
The Almaguin Highlands OPP says she was 70-year-old June Bell of Barrie. Bell was riding a bike when she was hit by a vehicle that left the scene on Highway 124 Sunday morning. She passed away on Monday.
Sunday night the OPP arrested the suspect in Parry Sound. The accused, 54-year-old Darren Miller, also of Barrie, is now facing upgraded charges of dangerous operation causing death, causing death by criminal negligence, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.
He’s been released from custody and will appear in court in Sundridge on July 26th.
