Muskoka Lakes officials are looking at new ways of bringing people downtown.
The township is moving forward with an official action plan created in coordination with local stakeholders and residents. The plan identifies ways the township is able to bring more people to downtown areas in Bala and Port Carling, especially during the tourist off-season in the winter. This includes more promotion of local events and downtown amenities and features, updating downtown appearances and finding new economic opportunities for these communities.
Township officials will be looking for outside funding, including provincial dollars, to help push this project forward. You can read more about the Downtown Enhancement Action Plan here.
