Blue-green algae still a concern at Lake of Two Rivers in Algonquin Park

Just a reminder, if you’re heading to Algonquin Park, steer clear of Lake of Two Rivers.

The public beaches at the lake have been closed since last year after Blue-Green Algae blooms were discovered in the water nearby. The toxic organisms can cause health issues like nausea and skin irritation and swimming nearby the blooms is not suggested.

The park is waiting on lab tests before officials are able to confirm the water is safe to swim in once again.
