For the past week or so there have been ongoing reports that fuel stations around the greater Toronto area have been running low or out of diesel fuel.
According to Tom Bowman of Bowman fuels in Huntsville, says his drivers noticed longer than normal lineups at the Petro Canada main depot, but they were able to keep the tanks full in the Bowman yard.
“It’s a maintenance thing usually,” offered Bowman. “Stuff doesn’t get done over the winter and then there is a whole bunch that needs to be done in spring and that interrupts the supply line.”
The bigger worry can be summer storms in the Caribbean that can affect production and interrupt the delivery of fuel on a timely basis.
“But we are all good here,” said Bowman with a laugh.
However, reports from listeners suggest gas stations in Bracebridge and Gravenhurst have been affected by the shortage.
