Huntsville Mayor Announces details of 2018 Golf Tournament

While we are just getting started with summer fun here in the Muskoka region, mayor for Huntsville Scott Aitchison is reminding folks that his golf tournament is taking place Sept. 13th at Deerhurst resort’s Highlands and Lakeside courses.

He took time to thank corporate partners Devonleigh Homes, Lovegrove and Tulloch Engineering before announcing Community Living Huntsville and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation will be the charitable benefactors this year.

Cathy McMurray, Vice Chair for the Hospital Foundation shared a story of how the two charities currently work together, as the Community Living organization provides volunteers to plant and harvest a community garden that ends up sharing food with the hospital for its patients to eat. Then, the hospital creates usable compost for use on the garden.

Mayor Aitchison expressed his thanks for the continued support for the event “We are so pleased that this event continues to grow every year,” noted Aitchison. “Last year we raised over $50,000 for healthcare in Huntsville and this year, we hope to beat that. We aim to raise $60,000.”
