MNRF hunting and angler blitz leads to 16 charges laid

Conservation officers are cracking down on illegal hunting practices in Parry Sound and Muskoka.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry ran an 11-hour blitz last week with officers from the Parry Sound and Muskoka areas. The conservation officers were targeting anglers and hunters just north of Parry Sound on Highway 69. Officers checked in with over 200 people and as a result 16 charges were laid and 26 warnings were issued.

The MNRF says illegal practices will not be tolerated and is asking the public to take charge by keeping an eye out for these types of activities. If you want to report a violation you can contact the MNRF tip line at 1-877-847-7667.
