Barrie woman rides across Canada to support the YMCA

A 26-year-old Barrie woman is cycling 6 thousand kilometers to fundraise for her local YMCA. Madeline Lawler will start in Vancouver on May 22nd and ride all the way to Nova Scotia. She hopes to raise 6 thousand dollars to support the YMCA of Simcoe-Muskoka. Vice President of Philanthropy, Brand and Community involvement Brian Shelley says Lawler embodies the spirit of the YMCA.

Shelley says the money raised will assist those who are unable to afford YMCA programs.

He adds Lawler will probably make a stop in Parry Sound during her ride. Donations can be made here or at your local YMCA.
