A Sudbury based telecommunications company has proposed a $2.2 million investment with the Town of Gravenhurst. The plan for the 27 kilometer fibre-optic network took nearly two years of planning and will provide service to 1350 homes and businesses. The network is comparable to some of the fastest internet speeds in the country and will produce 1,000 mbps (megabits per second). If funding goes through, construction of the high-speed internet could begin as early as this spring.
