Local health officials and police are warning you to keep an eye out for used needles.
Huntsville OPP warns as locals begin cleaning up their yards for the summer, you could discover something dangerous at the end of your rake. Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit Public Health Nurse Doug Ironside says there are some simple steps to follow if you do discover a discarded needle.
Ironside says there are a few places you can drop off the used needles to make sure they’re safely disposed of.
He says it’s not a common thing to find used needles around Muskoka, but if you do its best to take care of it so it doesn’t become a health problem for someone else.
