Drivers on Highway 400 are still being targeted in a gas scam say police.
West Parry Sound OPP had another report of someone offering to trade gold jewellery for gas money along the 400 in the Parry Sound area. The person who was approached didn’t hand over money and called police right afterwards. The three suspects are described as Eastern European men with accents and were reportedly driving dark vehicles.
The same men reportedly flagged down a driver on the 400 in mid-April trying to trade jewellery for gas. Police say the jewellery is fake and if you hand over cash you’ll be losing money. If you’re approached by one of these scammers call the police.
