District flushing water pipes, warns residents you may see cloudy water

If your tap water turns cloudy in the next few months don’t fret.

The District of Muskoka is flushing water pipe across the area as part of regular maintenance and cleaning out rust. Some residents on town water could see cloudy or rust-coloured water. Officials say running your taps with cold water will eventually clear out the sediment. The district suggests checking water throughout May and June before washing clothes as the rust can cause stains.

The flushing should be wrapped up by the end of June. If you have any questions you can find more details here.
