Gravenhurst Councillor Paul Kelly looks to upgrade to Mayor’s chair

A Gravenhurst councillor is setting his sights on the mayor’s chair.

Councillor Paul Kelly has officially filed his papers to run for mayor in Gravenhurst. Kelly says during his term on council he’s learned a lot from Mayor Paisley Donaldson who made a strong connection with the community.

He says it wasn’t always easy, but Donaldson worked to try to find balance in and outside of council chambers. Donaldson announced earlier this year she would not be running for mayor again.

Kelly says looking ahead, one of his main goals would be to tackle the housing issue which is plaguing many communities in Muskoka.
