Election season is ramping up in Muskoka. Nomination forms are now available for those interested in running for mayor or council in each of the municipalities as well as a Trillium Lakeland District School Board or Simcoe Muskoka District School Board trustee.
The District of Muskoka will also be taking nominations for the District Council Chair position. This follows a change in the procedure last year, where district council voted to allow the public to decide who would hold the chair position instead of making it an internal election process.
The nomination period begins today and runs until June 27th.
The municipal election is on October 22nd, advance polls open October 9th. You can find details below on how to apply as a candidate and how to register yourself as a voter for the upcoming election below:
