Private well users in Muskoka should get water tested this spring

Remember to add testing well water to your spring cleaning list this month.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reminding residents on private wells of the importance of checking your well water quality, especially after the snow melts. Health officials say well water can sometimes grow bacteria that can cause serious health issues for anyone drinking it.

You can get your well water tested for free by Ontario’s Public Health Laboratory. There are drop off locations with the SMDHU in Gravenhurst and Huntsville.

You can find all the details on how to get your well water properly tested for free here.
