MPP Norm Miller proud of Parry Sound-Muskoka’s commitment to organ donation

Norm Miller is commending his riding for leading the way in organ donor registration.

The Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP says Parry Sound boasts a 55 per cent average for registered organ donors, while Muskoka is close to 50 per cent on average. He credits Muskoka Gift of Life founder Sandra Holdsworth for these high numbers.

Holdsworth, who received a liver transplant in 1997, says she works hard to spread the message daily on the need for more donors.

She says if you haven’t registered to become an organ donor, it only takes a few minutes.

The number of registered donors on average in Ontario is just over 30 per cent, and Holdsworth says her hope is to see that eventually get to 50 per cent province-wide. You can find out how the join the cause and become a donor here.
