UPDATE: Hold and Secure in place at Irwin Memorial Public School in Dwight

Update 10:05am:

The MyMuskokaNow newsroom has an update from the Huntsville OPP. Officials say the police have been in contact with the suspicious person reported by the school, and the hold and secure has been lifted. The OPP says there was no threat made at any time, and there was no danger to the public as a result of the report made by the school. The police say a more detailed press release will be out later today.

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board has a school in Dwight under a hold and secure. TLDSB officials say an unidentified stranger was on the property, and the police are now investigating. The board says in the interest of the safety of students and staff the school was put in a hold and secure as a precautionary measure.

A hold and secure means classes continue as normal and life inside the school goes on as usual, but the doors to the school are locked.

No other details have been released yet.
