The YWCA is getting some help from partner organization YMCA to reach more girls in Muskoka.

Every year the YWCA Muskoka runs summer programs for girls in Bracebridge and Huntsville. Youth Programs Coordinator Stacey Schat says this year they’re expanding to Gravenhurst.

The program, named Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, will run in August for girls aged eight to 12. Schat says these programs are important to help young girls learn to deal with stress in their lives.

Schat says spaces in all the summer programs are limited to 20 participants each and they fill up fast, so interested parents need to apply now.
