Muskoka man fined for squatting on Crown land

A Muskoka man is being fined for leaving his camper on Crown land for too long.

The Utterson resident was fined $1,000 after his trailer was found on the province-owned land just northeast of Huntsville. The Conservation Officer who found it discovered it had been there for the majority of the spring and summer last year.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is reminding locals that you can only camp on Crown land for 21 days per year.
