Muskoka is falling back into winter for the rest of the week

The winter weather is returning with a vengeance to Muskoka.

Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson says depending on where you are, you’ll either get hit by freezing rain or a pile of snow.

These areas could see about three millimetres of freezing rain accumulation into tonight. Coulson says the weather will likely switch to snow Muskoka-wide by Wednesday before it moves on in the afternoon. But he says driving conditions will still be risky.

And the winter weather doesn’t end there. Coulson says this storm is being followed by a chilly reminder of winter as well for the rest of the week.

Coulson says this cold weather is bringing more snow to the district as well.

Environment Canada has warned April is expected to be cooler than usually before the warmer weather returns in May. The MyMuskokaNow will keep you updated on all weather and road conditions throughout the day.
