The Heart and Stroke Foundation receives support from Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith

Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith took part in raising the Heart and Stroke Foundation flag Monday afternoon at Bracebridge Town Hall. Program Coordinator for the Heart and Stroke Foundation Vernice Smith and volunteer Rhona Windsor joined Smith in raising the flag in honour of February being Heart Month. In 2013, the Heart and Stroke Foundation raised over 1 million dollars in Simcoe County and Muskoka through Door to Door Campaigns, Jump Rope for Heart, Big Bike and the Chase McEachern Tribute fund. According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, heart disease and stroke takes one life every 7 minutes with 9 out of 10 Canadians have at least one risk factor. All funds raised will go towards lifesaving research of heart disease and stroke. For more information visit www.heartandstroke.ca
