Terence Haight grant awards presented in Gravenhurst

Community and compassion. That’s the philosophy behind the Terence Haight grant awards that were handed out to several organizations at tonight’s council in Gravenhurst. Administrators say this annual grant program is dedicated to the legacy of Terence Haight who was passionate about the growth of Muskoka. Companies who operate around community strength and human services are said to be the focus of this award ceremony.

Muskoka Pride, Sawdust City Music Festival and the Gravenhurst Supper Club were among some of the recipients along with Ryde Community Co-Op, the West Muskoka Ringette Association and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Muskoka.

Terence Haight was considered a community-focused businessman who donated a large portion of his earnings to the town of Gravenhurst in hopes for continued growth and prosperity.
