‘Walk for Alzheimer’s’ event in Bracebridge and Huntsville all set for June

Imagine a world without Alzheimer’s. That’s the quote that keeps the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka walking for the disease in hopes to raise money for continued research and other program initiatives.

All set for June is the society’s annual “Walk for Alzheimer’s” event which gathers with cottage country participants every year where they will walk together and raise money. Administrators are saying all of the money raised will stay in Muskoka to assist with local programs and services and that the support from locals will help provide counselling and education for those affected with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

The Huntsville walk takes place on Saturday, June 2nd at Avery Beach and The Bracebridge walk will take place on Sunday, June 3rd at Kerr Park.

According to Megan Sutherland, energetic and enthusiastic volunteers help keep the events running. Those looking to get involved in the Hunstville walk can click here, and Bracebridge supporters can click here.
