Police want you to be prepared for scammers this tax season
It’s tax time and that means scammers are ready to part you from your money.
The OPP is reminding Muskokans to be wary about the ongoing Canadian Revenue Agency scam. Officials say you may get a call, email or texts claiming you owe money to the CRA. Police say the government agency will never ask for banking or credit card information or to be paid by gift cards.
If you believe you’ve been contacted by scammers call the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Officials say over 1,500 Ontarians were scammed last year out of $3 million.
