MPP Norm Miller gives advanced recognition to 2019’s Ontario 55+ Winter Games’ Organizing Committee

The countdown is on for next year’s winter games. Although 2018’s Ontario 55+ Winter Games wrapped up in Orillia last week, Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller is wasting no time giving recognition to the team for working to make the games happen in Huntsville next year.

Miller made a statement yesterday highlighting the efforts of those involved. He commended the recently appointed Organizing Committee Chair Fran Coleman and boasted her continuous contributions to cottage country. Miller also acknowledged all the community members who will help to organize the event. Huntsville held a one-year-out celebration Wednesday night where Coleman and the organizing committee were introduced.

The 3-day event will showcase over 1000 athletes in ten different kinds of sports.

Huntsville previously hosted the Winter Games in 2013 where tourism and local economy saw a multi-million dollar impact the community. The 2019 games are expected to bring in over $2 million for the surrounding area.

The 2019 Ontario 55+ Winter Games will get under way on March 5, 2019.
