A Muskoka artist is hoping to use her brush strokes to empower local women.
Artist Serena is opening her first art show named Passages this weekend. She says her goal is to help women who have faced struggles like depression and grief begin the self-healing process.
She says the timing of the show perfectly falls in line with women’s rights movements like #MeToo.
The show opens this Saturday at the Chapel Gallery in Bracebridge. The event will run in the afternoon from one to four. Her collection of acrylic and oil canvas works will be on display at the gallery until March 24th.
