The  O.P.P. is warning people to stay off the ice.

This comes as police say they’ve received over a dozen reports of people going through the ice this month.

Community Safety Officer Dianna Dauphinnee says even though ice may look safe for snowmobiles and A.T.V’s, it can be deceiving.

Dauphinee adds before you hit the trails, you should be aware of the temperature.

Dauphinee also recommends never going on ice alone, bringing a floater suit and an ice pick with you in case you go through the ice.

Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to be above the freezing point at various points next week.
