Cougar spotted in Huntsville

The Huntsville OPP says there have been some cougar sightings. Police say at 5:30am today, someone called them about a cougar on Highway 11 in the centre median, about 5 kilometres north of South Mary Lake Road. Then at around 10:30am there was a sighting on the rail tracks by the Huntsville Fire Department behind KWH Piping. Fire crews saw it running toward Hunters Bay Trail. The cougar has not been found yet. Police are asking you to be careful and warn you against capturing the animal. If you see the animal, get to a safe location and call police right away. The MNR has been notified and will continue to monitor the sightings.
