Distracted driving still a problem in Ontario says OPP
The OPP is urging you to stop distracted drivers. OPP Central Region Media Liaison Sergeant Peter Leon this year’s numbers are unacceptable.
By the end of the Labour Day Long Weekend, Leon says they laid over 11,500 distracted driving charges in Ontario so far.
Leon says he hopes drivers will play an active role in reducing distracted driving related collisions. Leon says operating motor vehicles is a shared responsibility.
The OPP says the best way to stop distracted driving is by making sure drivers keep their phones off until they pull over or reach their destination.
