Majority of snowmobiling trails listed at unavailable or limited availability across Muskoka

It’s a mixed bag of sledding availability in Muskoka this weekend. The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs has the majority of trails in the district either listed as unavailable or limited availability, which means its marginal snowmobiling with rocks or trees on the trails. OFSC officials say if you’re riding on trails listed as unavailable, or red on the map, you’re trespassing.

As you head north-west, there are trails available in South River, Port Loring and Restoule. There is also an available trail to the east in the Madawaska area.

You can check out all of the trail conditions in your area on the OFSC online map.

OPP officials remind snowmobilers to be cautious on the trails, make sure you ride within your abilities and to the trail conditions. A North Bay man was seriously injured in a crash just north of Huntsville earlier this week.
