Few changes made to proposed 2018 budget by Bracebridge councillors

Bracebridge councillors are feeling confident in the proposed budget.

Treasurer Stephen Rettie says despite a few minor changes, the feedback from councillors was positive during budget deliberations on Tuesday.

Rettie says this means the proposed tax increase of 3.4 per cent will stay the same. This would add about $30 to the tax bill for a $200,000 home. The increase is slightly lower than 2017, which added an extra $44 the tax bill.

The 2018 budget still needs to be approved during the next council meeting on February 14th.
