Freezing rain warning issued for Muskoka

Environment Canada is calling for significant freezing rain in Muskoka tomorrow. The weather service says a Colorado low is crossing the Great Lakes, bringing snow during the day on Monday, which will change to snow mixed with ice pellets.

Several centimetres of ice pellets are expected before it changes to freezing rain Monday evening. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says it’s hard to tell exactly how long it will last.

Environment Canada says roads, sidewalks and stairs will become slippery, due to a layer of snow covered by a layer of freezing rain.
