Freezing rain could be in the forecast for Muskoka on Monday

Icy conditions could be returning to roads in Muskoka on Monday.

Environment Canada is warning the district could get hit by freezing rain at the start of the work week as a weekend warm front moves out. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says they’re tracking the storm to see how severe it will be.

Coulson says at this point it’s more likely the freezing rain will stick around longer. He says if this happens, there’s a chance for some significant freezing rainfall in Muskoka over Monday and Tuesday.

He says the weather service will release a warning over the weekend if it’s expected to get bad. The MyMuskokaNow newsroom will keep you updated on this storm.
