Learn more about First Nations culture with a Gravenhurst reading circle

The Gravenhurst Public Library is spreading the word about First Nations authors. The library is inviting everyone to join a First Nation Communities READing Circle next week. It’s a chance for anyone who has read a book from the First Nations READing list, which is selected by a volunteer jury of First Nations librarians with support from the Southern Ontario Library Service, to talk about the stories.

It’s also for readers to share experiences, and foster cross-cultural understanding. Chief Librarian and CEO of the Gravenhurst Public Library, Julia Reinhart, says it’s a  great way to for people to become more familiar with some amazing First Nation writers and their work. It’s also an opportunity for the library to encourage the value of storytelling and information sharing.

The reading circle is happing on January 24th from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. To reserve your spot, call 705 687 3382.
