Santa’s Village Road public meeting rescheduled

The District of Muskoka is pushing back its public meeting on Santa’s Village Road. The district says there are scheduling conflicts, so the meeting is being moved from February 7th to March 22nd. The meeting will review the timeline, design preparation and tentative construction dates for the road.

The district hired a consultant to look at the issues with the 3.4 kilometre stretch of road, from Beaver Creek Road to the entrance of Santa’s Village, in 2017. Some of the problems include flooding, blind corners and speeding cars. Seven different options to address the problems were outlined; ranging from a simple repaving to adding bike lanes, recreational trails, curbs and gutters. The prices ranged from $2.1 million to $6.2 million depending on the upgrades.

The public meeting is between 6:00pm and 7:00pm in the District of Muskoka council chambers, at 70 Pine Street in Bracebridge. If you plan on attending, email [email protected] to RSVP.
