Huntsville’s downtown core is getting a new addition this spring. Lake of Bays Brewing is expanding from its current location in Baysville to open up a new brewery on Main Street. Work is set to begin on the brew house within the next couple of weeks, and by late April to early May the doors will be open to the public.
Ian Smith from Lake of Bays Brewing says the Huntsville operation will be similar to Baysville location, but with a few differences.
Smith says the brew pub will also include live music and a retail area. He also notes the brewery could bring some new visitors into Huntsville.
Smith says the company plans to look at some community focused initiatives once they are up and running, and will be hiring staff to work on the restaurant side of the brew pub. It’s located at 59 Main Street East, and sits below street level.
