Algonquin Park turns 125 this year and Ontario is celebrating

Algonquin Park is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.

Algonquin was founded on May 23rd, 1893, making it the first provincial park in Ontario. Since then, Ontario Parks has expanded to include over 300 more, including Arrowhead Provincial Park which was founded in 1971 and Hardy and Bigwind Lake Provincial Parks founded in 1985.

Ontario Parks says there will be events held across the province to celebrate the milestone and give you a chance to discover something new.

You can keep up to date on all events happening at these provincial parks here.
