Taking photos of your kids skating at the Jack Bionda arena is getting easier. Huntsville has just finished upgrading the lighting at the arena, which included replacing halide and fluorescent lights with LEDs. The town says the upgrades means higher quality of light at the arena, and saving energy by decreasing annual consumption by about 70 per cent.

The cost of the upgrades is $60,000, which was completely covered by the federal Gas Tax Fund. The GTF is meant to help municipalities across the country build and revitalize infrastructure, while creating jobs. Around $2 billion is handed out every year.
